Scan Sheets scans your Google Drive and returns relevant statistics for your spreadsheets (Google Sheets, CSV files, Excel files, ODS files and TSV files). Scan Sheets analyzes the meta data and creates a report highlighting several potential risks:
Redundant sheets are sheets that have the exact same name as another sheet and therefore likely contain duplicated data. Instead of creating copies of sheets, we recommend using Sheetgo to connect your sheets instead of creating unconnected copies.
Obsolete sheets are sheets that are seemingly no longer used as they have not been updated for at least 90 days. We recommend deleting or connecting those sheets to ensure that data remains actively used.
Finally, Scan Sheets is able to tell you how many of your sheets belong to you and how many sheets you share outside your domain. We recommend to regularly review permissions on sheets to ensure that the right people have access to your sensitive data.
We recommend that you regularly execute Scan Sheets to avoid potential risks of data inconsistency, duplication, incorrect versioning, and access.
To run Scan Sheets, go to app.sheetgo.com/scan and click on the Start button to start the scan.
