By default, Sheetgo will transfer all the data from source tabs to the destination tabs. These transfers include headers, the top rows in a spreadsheet containing column labels columns, blank rows, or logos and images.

If your spreadsheet's header is on row 1, you don't need to use the Offset Header setting. But if that isn't the case, you must specify the correct rows. That way Sheetgo knows this is part of spreadsheet's structure and not data.

Access the Offset Header setting

In the source step of an automation, head over to Advanced settings. There you will find the Offset header dropdown where you can the row number for you header. By default, Sheetgo treats row 1 as the header.

When to use Offset Header

There are two main reasons to use this feature:

  1. Column labels are not on row 1 - Sometimes the header spans many rows and the column labels are not on the first row. To ensure proper data processing, you must specify which row these labels are on.

  2. File has no header - In this case, you need to select "No headers" to ensure data is not treated as a header.

Tip: To copy the header formatting (font, color, text style) use Transfer Formatting.
