Sheetgo automations can merge data from multiple files into a single file, leaving the data in the source files intact. You can merge from multiple files or merge from a folder where all the files are located. After selecting the source files, these can be Google Sheets, Excel, or CSV, you will select the merge processor while building the connection.

Note: To merge spreadsheets, they must have matching column labels and header structures. Otherwise, data will get mixed up in the merged file.

To start building a spreadsheet using the Merge data processor, create a Blank workflow and start by Create an automation or create a New automation inside an existing workflow.

On the source step start by selecting the Multiple files option.

In your cloud storage find the files from which the data would be pulled and click on Done.

Finish selecting the files and specify the exact tab where the data that you want to merge is located. When you are done, click on Next step.

On the data processor step select the Merge feature.

By default, Sheetgo will select the first row as a header. If you need to change this, open the dropdown menu, select the desired row, and click Next step to merge data into a single spreadsheet.

You can send your data to a single spreadsheet or multiple files. In our case, we are sending the data into one Google Sheet spreadsheet.

From here, you can either select an existing spreadsheet or create a new one as a destination. By default, Sheetgo will save a new spreadsheet on the root folder of the source documents, if you need you can change this setup. If you are creating a new spreadsheet you will need to give it a name and specify what format the file will have, either a Google Sheet, Excel or CSV.

Sheetgo will merge all the data from the source files into a single tab, with a name based on the source file but this can be customized if desired. When you're done click Finish and save.
