By default, Sheetgo will import the entire dataset from your source tab(s) into the destination tab(s). This includes headers (the rows of your spreadsheet containing labels for the columns, blank rows, or rows containing logos and images).
For most automations, you do not need to use the Offset Header setting. But sometimes, especially when merging multiple files into one, you may want to adjust the setting.
How to access the Offset Header setting?
The Offset Header setting is located under Advanced settings on the source step of your automation. Sheetgo presumes that Row 1 contains the header, if you need to change this select, on the dropdown menu the row that should be used as the header.
When should I use the Offset Header setting?
Consolidate connections
You are consolidating multiple source files and the header occupies more than one row. In this case, select the lowest row of the header.
You are consolidating multiple source files and the spreadsheet contains rows above the header that are not part of the dataset (such as logos or blank rows). In this case, select the actual header row.
You are consolidating multiple source files with no headers (such as CSV files). In this case, select no headers.
Standard (one-to-one) connections.
For most connections between one source and one destination, you do not need to adjust the setting.
You should use the Offset Header in a one-to-one connection if the source tab header occupies more than one row and you don't want to export the entire header to the destination tab. This may be the case if your source spreadsheet contains logos or other information above the header that you do not want to export. In this case, select the lowest row of the header.
Tip: If you want to copy the formatting of your header (font, color, text style) use the Transfer Formatting setting.
