Automating workflows with Sheetgo is the best way to guarantee that you and your team always have the latest data without opening your files. You’ll also save a lot of time since you don’t have to run a connection manually.

You can automate your Workflows using Sheetgo’s automate feature, which offers a variety of frequency options, including days and times. This provides you with a smart schedule, where you can control your workflow and how many transfers you use per month.

How frequently can Workflows run automatically?

Sheetgo offers automation hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly. To create an automation schedule, open the workflow you wish to automate and click the Automate button at the bottom left of your Workflow page.

Activate the Run automatically toggle at the top of the new window.

Here you have some options on how to configure the automatic updates of your workflows. From the top, you can choose:

  • How frequently does your workflow updates.

  • The run frequency.

  • Your timezone.

  • Which days to schedule automation.

  • The time range to run the updates.

Once you have adjusted the schedule to your needs, Sheetgo will calculate how many transfers a month this automation schedule will use. Keep this in mind when setting up automatic updates!

Please note: Transfers used for workflow automation will come from the quota of the workflow owner. Sharing this workflow will only use transfers from another user if they manually run the connections.

Let’s take a look at some examples to help us better understand how to set up an automated schedule.

Set up multiple runs a day

Let’s say you work in a warehouse and have an inventory management system with Sheetgo. You want to receive stock updates as frequently as possible. You can set up an automation to run from every 15 minutes to every 12 hours.

To set up hourly updates for your workflows, follow these steps:

  1. Head to your workflow and select the Automate button in the bottom left-hand corner.

  2. Enable the Run Automatically toggle.

  3. In the dropdown menu, select Multiple times a day.

  4. Select your time zone.

  5. Choose the days you want your workflow to run.

  6. Select the time range in which the workflow will run your connections.

Once you’re happy with your schedule, click Save.

Now, the workflow above will run and update every hour from 06:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Set up daily automations

Following the same example above, let’s say you own a hardware store that needs to make sure its stock is up-to-date at the end of each working day. Using Sheetgo, the entire system can be automated exactly once a day at closing time, throughout the working week.

To set up daily updates for your workflow, follow these steps:

  1. Head to your workflow and select the Automate button in the bottom left-hand corner.

  2. Enable the Run Automatically toggle.

  3. Select Once a day from the dropdown menu.

  4. Choose the time-frequency when to run the update.

  5. Click on your timezone.

  6. Select the days you want the workflow to run.

Once you’re happy with your schedule, click Save.

To set up weekly updates for your workflows, follow these steps:

  1. Head to your workflow and select the Automate button in the buttom left-hand corner.

  2. Enable the Run Automatically toggle.

  3. Select Once a day from the dropdown menu.

  4. Choose the time frequency when to run the update.

To set up monthly updates for your workflow, follow these steps:

  1. Head to your workflow and select the Automate button in the buttom left-hand corner.
