Automation triggers within Sheetgo are a powerful tool that makes sure that your workflows always have the latest data, even when you're offline. Think of them as your digital assistants, ready to streamline your work process effortlessly. With the triggers, you have more options on how to activate your workflows without having to manually run them, you can activate them based on a schedule, form submission, or another workflow run.

How to set up automation based on a schedule?

Automation based on a schedule is an option to run on a specific time range or days, to learn more about this automation’s possibilities, check out our article on smart schedules.

Here is how to enable this automation:

  • Slide the toggle button to Run automatically.

  • Choose in the dropdown menu “Based on a Schedule”.

  • The frequency of your workflow will be updated (Once a day, multiple times or Once a month).

  • The ideal hours to run.

  • Your timezone.

  • Which days to schedule automation (every day/ weekdays).

  • The time range to run the updates is based on your needs.

How to set up automation based on form submissions?

If your workflow is connected to a form, you can schedule automation to run every time a form is filled. You can check an example of this in our Form Automation Trigger article.

Here is how to enable this automation:

  • Slide the toggle button to Run automatically.

  • Choose in the dropdown menu “On form submission”.

  • The name of the form.

The workflow will run automatically when the form is submitted.

How do I set up automation based on workflow run?

This automation trigger is recommended if you already have a workflow and you want to run one after another in sequence. You can check an example of this in our Workflow Automation Trigger article.

Here is how to enable this automation:

  • Slide the toggle button to Run automatically.

  • Choose in the dropdown menu “On workflow run”.

  • Select the workflow.

Once you have adjusted the schedule to your needs, Sheetgo will calculate how many transfers a month this automation schedule will use. Keep this in mind when setting up automatic updates!
